Our mission is to share the teachings and legacy of Bruce Lee through martial arts and mindfulness programs to empower youth mental wellness and build strong communities.
We envision a world where every person possesses the inner strength, resilience, and wholeness to live a fully expressed life.
Founded in 2002 by Shannon Lee and her mother Linda Lee Cadwell, the Bruce Lee Foundation began by offering college scholarships and supporting organizations in underserved communities, reflecting Bruce Lee's belief in service and his passion for cultivating human potential. This early work established the foundation's values and set the stage for its next phase. In 2019, out of a desire to have a larger, direct impact, the Foundation began thinking about more direct youth programming it could offer and initiated its Camp Bruce Lee Program. By 2021 as the grip of the pandemic began to ease, we realized the need to sharpen our mission to address youth mental health directly and expanded our offerings.
Today, our Camp Bruce Lee and Warrior Academy programs give kids important life skills to build confidence, resilience, and wellbeing through martial arts and mindfulness classes. Additionally, we foster cross-sector collaborations, events, and projects that cultivate cultural connection and healing.
We believe Bruce Lee’s life and practices can ignite positivity, encouraging people to shift their mindset, unlock their potential, and support one another. As Bruce Lee said, “If everyone would help their neighbor, then no one would be without help. Be water, my friend!”
