VI Meeting of Bruce Lee fans and admirers

As we have been announcing in recent months, the European Bruce Lee Club publicizes the event to be held on 5^th and 6^th December 2009 in Barcelona.

This sixth edition is the consolidation and international opening one, with the presence of two of Bruce Lee’s students and personal friends, such as Ted Wong and Allen Joe.

TED WONG:

Ted Wong met Bruce in 1967 and, with no previous martial skills, he joined immediately at the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute in Los Angeles. Today he’s the highest authority worldwide in the Original JKD. Wong trained with Bruce in the latter stages of the development of his martial art, becoming his favorite sparring during his private practice and the person who enjoyed the most number of private lessons with the Little Dragon. In short, a unique opportunity to train and learn first-hand the impressions and concerns of the man who, for many, was the real Bruce Lee protégé.

ALLEN JOE:

Allen Joe met Bruce in 1962, when he was working as a waiter at Ruby Chow restaurant. Friend of instructor James Lee in Oakland, he put both of them in contact and became his student when Bruce moved to California. Determined to make a qualitative leap in his martial art, and starting with a good fitness condition, it was Joe Allen who started Bruce in weight training and gave him his first set of dumbbells. Joe was an expert in the field and in several occasions monitored his progress and prepared his specific fitness training plans.

EVENT SCHEDULE

SATURDAY 5^TH

OPEN SEMINAR ON JKD TAUGHT BY TED WONG.

9:00 / 14:00 hs.

Lacking only little details, and a place yet to be determined, on Saturday it will be held the first part (5 hours) of the 10 hours public seminar on JKD taught by Ted Wong. It will be the first seminar open to everyone performed by him in Spain in over a decade, so this is an exceptional opportunity for any martial arts practitioner to know firsthand Ted Wong and his work in the art of JKD.

LUNCH WITH TED WONG AND ALLEN JOE FOR MEMBERS ONLY

15:30 / 17:30 hs.

A private lunch only for members of the European Bruce Lee Club on Saturday, 5^th December with Ted Wong and Joe Allen. This will be the chance to have with them a first and more intimate and personal contact that will surely delight any fan of the Little Dragon.

SUNDAY 6^TH

9:00 / 14:00 hs.

Second part (5 hours) of the 10 hours Ted Wong seminar on JKD.

BRUCE LEE CONFERENCE

18:00 / 20:00 hs.

In the main room of the restaurant Can Armengol (Prat de la Riva n-1, Santa Coloma de Gramanet), it will be held a conference on the figure and legacy of Bruce Lee, given by his friends and students Ted Wong and Joe Allen.

20:30 / 21:00 hs.

There will be a private pass for photographs and autographs with Ted and Allen for the members of the European Bruce Lee Club.

CLOSURE EVENT OFFICIAL DINNER

21:00 hs.

Closure event dinner at the restaurant Can Armengol. During the dinner, there will be an exhibit of material provided by several Bruce Lee collectors. We will take stock of the first year of the European Bruce Lee Club, its achievements and future goals. It will be unveiled the No. 3 issue of the magazine Bruce Lee Mania and, among other activities, there will be raffles for gifts and some other surprises that will surely become a nice memory to all attendees.
